Did You Already Sign that Non-Compete Agreement?

Before signing an employment agreement that contains a non-compete covenant, call a lawyer.  Contrary to common belief, these provisions may be successfully enforced against employees. Of course, facts matter and so do the actual words of the agreement.  But I have spoken with numerous individuals who want to invalidate the agreement they signed so that they can change jobs. I'm not a litigator, but when they discover the cost to retain the services of an employment law litigator who represents former employees against employers, they are stunned.  And regrettably, most do not have the deep pockets necessary to fund a lawsuit even though the facts and the law may tend to favor their ultimate success . . .
