Resources for Kids
Sometimes parents struggle to find wholesome, engaging resources that will impart both sound Biblical truth and be fun too. Although my years of raising little kiddos have passed, I've found a handful of audio resources (perhaps "radio drama" may be another term; but it depends on how you access the resource: on the radio, or on the Internet) that are regularly programmed on Christian radio station KHCB (105.7 FM) in Houston (or on one their many network stations: Giddings, Wake Village/Texarkana, Kerrville/Fredericksburg, Paris, Arcadia, Jefferson/Marshall/Longview, Bastrop, Bloomington/Victoria, Madisonville, Port O'Connor, Bryan/College Station (whoop!), San Marcos, Round Rock, Mendoza, Lockhart, Shreveport (and growing! this list of cities in the KHCB radio network was last updated on March 14, 2009), and are worth checking out (some may also be available on the Internet at OnePlace; and KHCB also carries their daily station programming on the Internet):
OK, my first confession and my only confession on this website: I usually listen to Adventures in Odyssey (based in or near Mr. John Avery Whittaker's ice cream shop, Whit's End, in the city of Odyssey) shaving on Saturday mornings; this audio drama produced by Focus on the Family since 1987 is first class! Want to get your kids (six and older) away from the television and let their imaginations kick-in? If so, check out:
